Embedded Systems Engineer

This position will involve working in a team environment on the design, fabrication and flight testing of advanced Unmanned Aircraft Systems from inception through production. The avionics systems integration electrical engineer will be responsible for integration and testing of embedded electronics and associated software. Performance of this role will require an understanding of complex electronic systems and their interactions. Detailed knowledge in evaluation, testing, troubleshooting of GPS, Ethernet, serial, CAN bus communications, RF datalink systems, power management systems, and general payload integration is vital for this position. Windows and Linux operating system experience and configuration are a plus. Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related discipline.

This work will include laboratory testing that culminates in field testing of systems and components. Vehicle System Quality Assurance Technician

The primary focus of this role is to execute the final vehicle system checkout procedures  to ensure all aircraft systems operate within defined operating limits ensuring aircraft ready for customer delivery or flight testing. Familiarity with unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) such as ground station operations or avionics, quality assessment procedures, or relevant military experience is highly desired. Embedded Software Systems Engineer

This position involves working in a team environment on the development of on-board computer and communications systems for Area-I’s unmanned systems. The person in this position will work as part of a team to develop software capabilities for multiple mission requirements including guidance navigation and control, payload sensor integration, communications, electro-mechanical control of systems, and GUI development. Candidates must be willing to work in teams with a wide array of responsibilities and flexibility within a multi-disciplinary group.   • Generate and test interfaces between aircraft sensor and control systems
  • Integrating new payload systems through payload ICDs
